Are You Leading Or Trying to Lead?

Leadership is not an inherit behavior, it is a process that can be taught to almost anyone. Some of the most powerful leaders in history learn to lead through trial and error. Sometimes leaders become complacent in their endeavors simply because they lack inner motivation and creativity. The question is; Who are you leading or trying to lead? Today, everyone wants to be a leader. But, as nature would have it not all of us can actually lead.

Wise leaders first learn the concept of understanding their followers, then apply leadership methods that actually work. One cannot lead effectively if they don't understand who or what they are leading. This is called the blind leading the blind concept. Leadership is not a cut and dry concept, it is a series of approaches that are dovetailed to suit one organization versus another. Leaders who tend to use one approach or method of leadership style bond to fail.

These types of leaders "try" to lead.

On the other hand, leaders who are willing to learn through trial and error can take their organization to the next level without much drama or fanfare. One cannot experience life without first understanding that to reach it's mountain top, you must be prepared to withstand its tough paths. Hardship and failure prepares us to be stronger. Nothing in this life comes easy and when leaders can understand this concept, their approach to motivating others within the organization will not be a difficult task. Success can only be measured when we experience various levels of failure.

Therefore, your mindset has to be flexible and adaptable to withstand any negative darts that may be thrown towards you. Effective leadership is not only about motivating others to do a task. Effective leadership works best when you are faced with challenges that call for creative thinking and practical solutions that actually work! Wise leadership defines this whole concept. Wise leaders are flexible, timely and creative. These leaders understand trends and effectively apply strategies that are practical for everyone. To lead effectively, a leader must understand the concept of being followed.
